Oldsmobile Hood Ornaments

Ransom E. Olds founded the Olds Motor Vehicle Co. in Lansing, Mich. in 1897. Officially, the cars were named "Olds automobiles", but colloquially they were referred to as "Oldsmobiles", a name that stuck. General Motors purchased the company in 1908. Oldsmobile became a marquis brand with many engineering innovations and popular models. GM closed the Oldsmobile division in 2004.

Over the years Oldsmobile was responsible for providing many popular models of autos. Some of the more notable were - Rocket, Olds 66, Super 88, Olds 98, Olds 442, Cutlass, Starfire, F-85, F-88, Jetstar, Delta, Vista Cruiser, Toronado, Regency, Calais, Ciera, Firenza, Bravada, Alero, Aurora, and Achieva. Some models of Oldsmobile sported hood ornaments well into the 1980's and 90's.
