Lincoln Hood Ornaments
Lincoln Motors was founded by Henry Leland - an early automotive giant - in 1917. Leland's primary goal was to build vehicles for upscale markets, but by 1922 severe financial problems forced the sell of the company at public auction. Henry Ford acquired the asset for a mere eight million dollars. A real bargain considering that under Ford's direction Lincoln quickly became one of America's top selling luxury brands alongside Packard and Cadillac. 
Lincoln has produced several outstanding luxury models of automobiles. Some of the more notable are - Capri, Continental, Zephyr, Premiere, Cosmopolitan, Lido, Versailles, Mark Series, Town Car, Navigator, Aviator, and Blackwood. Hood ornaments have always been a distinctive design element of Lincolns.  |
