American Motors Hood Ornaments


1954 MetropolitanAmerican Motors Co. was founded in 1954, as the result of a merging of Nash Motors and Hudson Motor Co. By 1957 the names of both Nash and Hudson had completely disappeared, with Rambler emerging as the company identification. In 1987, Chrysler Motors bought the struggling company at fire sale pricing.

1958 Rambler Station WagonAmerican Motors Co. had many successful models over the years, some of the more notable are - Hornet, AMX, Ambassador, Metropolitan, American, Tarpon, Marlin, Rebel, Javelin, Gremlin, Concord, Matador, Spirit, Eagle and Pacer. Very few of the later models had hood ornaments.
